That sentence is usually the first thing most people see when researching the original feature of which the new film is directly based on.
In the sheltered shade of northern California, deep in the heart of the coastal Indian Valley lies the railroading town of Shining Time. Often missed on many maps, the community of carefree citizens live in a cultural bubble, seemingly trapped in the mid-20th Century.
The idea of adapting a poorly written, forgotten children's film and turning it in an absurdist musical stoner comedy was not something many would consider to be a walk in the park. However, the team behind The Magic Railroad was not exactly the kind to turn down such a daunting task.
